Our commitment
CivAnnex helps governments make their websites and documents accessible, and we hold our own site to the same standard. We want everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or other assistive technology, to be able to use this website.
The standard we follow
We aim for this website to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. This is the technical standard referenced by the U.S. Department of Justice's ADA Title II rule for state and local government websites.
What we do
- Use clear headings, landmarks and a skip link so the page is easy to navigate.
- Keep text and buttons at sufficient color contrast.
- Make every link and button usable with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
- Test with automated tools and by hand, including keyboard-only and screen reader checks.
